Celebrating the ideas and ideals that made America the shining beacon of hope for the world - one of only a handful of times in all of human history when a nation existed based on the principles of Freedom
America is not perfect. Aristotle would not be surprised. That which is created in the real world cannot be perfect, can not be true to the concept as he would say. Of course, it can be argued that at one time America was closer to being perfect than it is today. Dissent was afforded courtesy. But that was in a past that recognized that Man is not rational - and has to be taught to think rationally. That was in a past in which a Classical Education was celebrated - for it was Aristotle who first memorialized the teaching of logic - the foundation for a rational society. One could think dark grey instead of light grey...and argue the hues. But rational thinking individuals both recognized that grey was the color. Today, we argue blue versus red, black versus white with one or both sides unable to think rationally because in the wisdom of modern American education, learning to think is unnecessary and maybe even dangerous.
The result: Today, we have elected officials who elevate the Rocky Horror Picture Show philosophy as their mantra: "If you can dream it...you can be it". Thus, if you imagine yourself to be a horse, then rather than a human being you are a horse. Logic is irrelevant. And America declines and suffers.
What do you think? Do you think...or do you just "feel"?
In the blog, "Nature of Man", we invite specific dialogue regarding the genetic predisposition of human-kind.
In this blog, "Founding Fathers", we invite dialogue regarding how the founding principles of America are being or have been perverted - and invite discussion regarding not only the examples but the cure. Although some problems require complex solutions, that is not always true. After all, the solution to remaining alive when oxygen deprived is just one thing: inhale (OK, argue three things...inhale then exhale and repeat).
